Future-telling

Thank goodness January’s done. All I can say is I made it through and kept my head above water. Now I have another month to get through, same thing. However, my horoscope at www.Astrologyzone.com says that I have a stellar month ahead for career. Good news for anyone else who is a Taurus. ๐Ÿ˜‰

I like this astrologer and I’ve been following her on and off since about 1998 or so. Most of the time she has some zingers in there that are uncannily accurate. But I don’t use astrology to tell me what precisely is going to happen. It’s not like having a crystal ball. If it was, we’d all be sleeping better. Rather, I see it as helpful road signs along my journey that provide information so I can make somewhat better informed choices. Also, for a really good horoscope, one really needs complete birth information (date and time of birth, plus exact location). The aforementioned website is more general, so for accurate information, if you are so inclined, one could use www.astro.com. I’m also not a zealot about such stuff. I follow astrology more passively and randomly, but at the beginning of every month, I do go to Astrologyzone and read my full horoscope.

Anyhooo… I can predict a busy day today. First, I’m getting my nails done (yesterday was my hair – yay!), and then I head off to an interview at noon. I’m not really excited about the particular job. The job description sounds dreadful and more of a technical service desk position than a technical writer or “documentation analyst” as it was labeled. However, the hiring manager has seen my resume, so apparently it seems to be somewhat of a fit, so off I go. I can’t afford to just decline a potential job without investigating it somewhat. It could be more than it appears. I do know it’s a commute, so they’d have to be flexible with a work-from-home situation or something.

But I do feel a whole lot better since I got my hair done. Woohooo! Maybe I can get my daughter to snap up a picture. ๐Ÿ˜‰ Later, peeps.

  1. Good luck on the job interview, and thanks for posting these links. I don’t astrology to rule my life but I admit that I am fascinated with how “on target” it is about people’s signs. I’m a Pisces, an absolute quintessential Pisces, which is what got me interested in the whole zodiac thing. When you a read a description of yourself you can’t help but be drawn in. I like Linda Goodman’s Sun Signs book, and her Star Signs as well. Have you read either one? I think she’s amazing.

  2. Yes, good luck with the job. And congrats on getting your nails and hair done. I would KILL to be doing that– I’ve just learned how to cut my own recently, and I’m amazed that I’m not bald. One of my concessions to self-employment. But seriously, I’d sell my soul for an eyebrow wax right now.

I’m a Virgo, but the weirdest Virgo you’ll ever meet. I wish I had more stereotypical Virg in me. But I like that site, and I’ll read it more thoroughly when I’m feeling better. Thanks for the link!

Oh Wendy, I thought “Sun Signs” was a little amazing.

  3. Update on the job interview to come shortly, but it was good. Positive feedback.

I have quite a few astrology books in my collection, some on transits by Robert Hand (the same astrologer on Astro dot com) and understanding astrology. I used them more for reference. I liked Linda Goodman, however I learned that to really get the most out of sun sign reading – even with Susan Miller’s (astrologyzone) forecasts, you should also read your rising sign forecast. My rising sign is Cancer, and I have a Capricorn moon. That explains a lot of my homebody personality, tendency to quickly retreat when hurt (or perceived hurt), but my Capricorn moon is what gives me my drive in the workplace. Or so I’ve read. But I am truly a Taurus. I prefer not to call myself stubborn, but steadfast and tenacious, persistent and loyal.

MB – I’m glad you aren’t a true Virgo. My mom’s room mate is one and she has the shortest fuse when she’s served two scoops of ice cream and she only asked for one. Just an example.

Wendy, the only Pisces I knew was my grandfather. I don’t know much about that sign really at all. Just that they’re kinda fishy. JUST KIDDING.

  4. See, the eery thing to me is that you’ve only known one Pisces, and I’ve known more Pisces and Aquarius (Buck’s sign) than any other signs. What can this mean, this water sign thing? Birds of a feather? Like attracts like? Is it just coincidence? I want answers. ๐Ÿ™‚

  5. I wonder if it is like attracts like. But I don’t know. I’ve known more Capricorns and Virgos. However I’m glad to know Buck is an Aquarius. He gives them a good image, in my little head. My first husband was an Aquarius (born Feb 14) and has always made that day and sign horrible in my head. I steered clear of Aquarians after him. I guess it’s how we associate things. My son in law is also Aquarius, born Feb 15. Maybe it just goes to show we are more than our sign, and there’s a little of every sign in all of us. I dunno. My second hubby though was a Virgo and I thought that would be a great mix for me. But his rising sign was Gemini. And was he ever two people. He’d commit, then un-commit. Over and over. I should have known.
