I Spotted Her

Filed under: Random — Little Miss @ 9:04 pm

I was heading up to my daughter’s house early this morning and I saw Akira running across the busy five lane highway. I shouted her name, whipped a u-turn, parked the car, and got out to get her. She ran up into the trees, but not without stopping and giving me her “Doy-de-doy” look, like, “what? You gonna come get me?” I tried quickly calling younger daughter, Stacy, but of course, she didn’t have her phone near her to answer it. Stacy has gone up and checked around that area quite extensively today, and down one path she found fresh kitty poop, so I guess Akira is just having fun.

What’s annoying and frustrating and baffling to me is that as my daughter was putting flyers on the mailboxes earlier this week, some lady was going behind her taking them down as quickly as she was putting them up. Why do people do this? Are they just bitches and cold-hearted losers? Clearly they didn’t read the notice to see that we live in the same neighborhood and we have every right to post those notices. Geez, if we can get stupid homeowner notices about car break-ins and someone’s 12 year old daughter wanting to babysit, then I say pets are automatically allowed equal press time. Whatever. I’d have gone off on the lady if I’d seen her.

Back to Akira. I’m positive that was her, and I’m happy to know nothing horrid has seemingly happened to her. This makes Stacy happy too. She just wants her home.

We’ll try fresh tomorrow to get her home.

  1. Why do cats do this? My sister’s cat used to torture her, disappearing into the neighborhood for days at a time. It used to make me furious with that cat, and it wasn’t even mine.

But what about that horrible bitchy woman taking down your daughter’s signs?! My God, how can people be so cold and heartless? Unless it’s possible she’s had your cat all along. Do you think this could be, or is she just a nasty person?

  2. I think this particular cat of ours loves to be outdoors. She likes to chase the birds, and there are plenty of them around here. I’d rather she chase birds outside than my two cats inside. At least she’s fixed and won’t be coming home ready to have a litter. As for the lady taking down the signs – I have no idea. Some people are just nasty. And this was the opposite end of the neighborhood from where we spotted her, so I don’t think she would have her, but who knows. It’s a good quarter of a mile from home where I spotted Akira, so I guess she likes to travel. Stacy and her friend went out again last night looking for her with a flashlight. They found kitty tracks, so she’s been up and around there. I wonder if she just can’t figure out how to get back home. At least she’s having fun and Stacy isn’t so depressed. She is depressed enough without losing a kitty.

  3. Your hood just sounds insane. That woman needs a serious ass whooping (wooping? Beating). I’m so glad you spotted your kitty– I hope she’s home soon!
