Let’s ban the exclamation mark!!

Filed under: Random — Little Miss @ 9:21 am

I am going on record to say that exclamation marks are overused. Seriously. I’m working with some copy right now that has them spattered all over the text as if they were sprinkles on a birthday cake. I’m sorry, I’m not supposed to be editing the text, but I’m saving the world from extraneous exclamation marks that are completely useless.

And in case you question the double exclamation marks in my heading, that was completely in jest and if you didn’t get it, then you have no sense of humor.

  3. @Mermaids – it’s hard to teach them right when there’s text messaging and deliberately incorrect marketing messaging.

@Curious – They have their place. Everyone should use one once in their life. And that’s it. I’m reserving mine for after I die. My daughters can put it on my headstone and say “Here is my mom, who never used this exclamation mark!” Or something equally as silly. (I’m just kidding you know!!!!!!)
